Inmate Death: Autopsy Confirms Makeshift Noose Used Despite Scrutiny of Cleveland County Jail

Daniel Freeman's death came about two weeks after Cleveland County inked a deal with an independent investigator to examine jail safety and operations, following a rise in inmate deaths. The autopsy report confirms the 58-year-old died by suicide just three days after his arrest. Freeman was found hanging from a makeshift noose crafted from a piece of blanket, according to the report. Toxicology results revealed the presence of an antidepressant but no other substances. The report further states that Freeman was found unresponsive in his cell and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Oklahoma City's Yearly Homicide Count Rises Slightly Above Previous Year
